Since Michael Quinion is based in the UK the site is managed to conform in all respects to British and EU data protection legislation.
This site does not use cookies and we do not store personal data about the pages you view.
Any details you give for subscription purposes will be used solely to maintain the World Wide Words mailing list. We never pass subscription information to anyone else.
However, subscription requests are logged to aid security and to check that the system is working properly; these logs are kept secure and are deleted from the site after 28 days.
The subscriptions list server (which automatically manages subscription requests and the despatch of newsletters) blocks unauthorised attempts to view the list of subscribers; even other subscribers cannot gain access.
